See the Difference of CustomLASIK
While both Laser Visions Procedures are highly effective and accurate, the precision with which CustomLASIK is performed is unprecedented. This procedure allows each surgeon to take an individual map of your eye so the laser can be customized for your eye.
CustomLASIK uses a tool called a "Wavefront Analyzer" to measure every aspect of your eye, including the way light travels through it. These measurements are then programmed right into the laser, and the laser completes the surgery based on the individualized map. With the development of this procedure, surgeons can now treat "higher order" aberrations, which are tiny imperfections in the eye that can have a significant impact on one's quality of vision. Higher order aberrations have not been previously treatable with contacts, glasses or Conventional LASIK.
While Conventional LASIK is still a very good option for many patients, many will prefer to undergo this customized procedure for better results. Only you can decide what procedure you want performed on your eyes, but your surgeon can guide you in making an informed decision.
