What Makes Our Doctors Different?

What Makes Our Doctors Different?

We are very proud of our huge network of surgeons and associated LASIK centers - and for good reason. Our doctors are among the most reputable and most renowned in the entire industry. More than 5,100 doctors and 2,000 eye doctors have chosen to have the LASIK procedure completed by one of the thousands of affiliated doctors in our network. We find that to be the best referral of all!

Our LASIK surgeons have gone above and beyond the standard of excellence. Each of our LASIK surgeons has an M.D. in Ophthalmology, and has completed all required additional education, residencies, fellowships and advanced experience that distinguishes them as a qualified LASIK surgeon. Each surgeon is Board Certified and required to pass the strict manufacturer's course for each laser they operate. Moreover, the vast majority of the LASIK surgeons in our group were among the best of the best- even in the highly specialized and niche field of LASIK.

There is often some confusion about the difference between Eye Care Health Professionals. Let us help:

An optometrist is a medical professional who perform actual examinations to treat vision problems and detect signs of disease or abnormalities. An Optometrist must hold a Doctor of Optometry degree, pass a state board examination and hold a valid, active license for the state in which they practice.

An ophthalmologist holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). Additionally, he or she must have a broad knowledge of overall general medicine and clinical training. An ophthalmologist is trained to diagnose and treat all kinds of eye disorders. An ophthalmologist is also able to perform eye surgeries.

TLC employs both Optometrists and Ophthalmologists, among other medically trained staff to assure your care and attention is well-rounded and comprehensive.

You can rest assured that when you're trusting your eyes to us, you're trusting your eyes to the best medical professionals in the field.
